Julia P. CAMPBELL Selph (1845 - 1873)

Julia Campbell was born Aug. 22, 1845, in Nelson, Tioga Co., PA; d. Oct. 13, 1973 in New Haven, Shiawasee Co., MI. Married Jan. 16, 1869 in Nelson, to Civil War veteran William Edward "Ed" Selph; b. Sept. 15, 1843, in Rochester, NY; d. Jan. 13, 1875. Ed's parents are presently unknown, He was raised by Harry and Lydia Crandall Seely in Deerfield and Middlebury Twps. of Tioga Co., PA.

Julia was the youngest of 12 children of Joseph Campbell, b. 1793 in N. Ireland or Scotland, d. 1864 in Nelson; and Ann Clinch, born 1804 in Gloucestershire, England, died 1872 in Nelson.

Ed and Julia Campbell Selph had three children:

2. Rena May Selph, b. Dec. 25, 1869, in New Haven, MI, d. there Sept. 10, 1870;
   
3. William "Will" Edward Selph, Jr., b. Sep. 13, 1871 in Osceola, Tioga Co., PA, m. Luphrena May Stokoe and Edith Peck Loder; and
4. Jennie May Selph, b. Oct. 17, 1873 in New Haven, m. James Alfred "Alta" Cady.

After Julia's death, Will lived with her sister, Mary Ann CAMPBELL Seely, and Jennie was raised by Julia and Mary Ann's sister, Jane CAMPBELL Tubbs. Jane adopted Jennie.
