My dear cousin,

A long time since I heard from you. I am very sorry and a shame to think I haven written long before this. Well Blanche1 I have three more grandchildren since I wrote you last   York has a girl that came in July   Royce has a boy that came in September and Georgiannna has a boy that came October.

How is the weather down your way? this will be a cold night here   we had a hot dry summer. I was sick for about three months. I was taken in July   Just as soon as I got to feel better I would have a nother sick spell, but I am feeling better now.

How is Earl2 and Georgianna3; did Georgianna get out to see you last summer! father and mother are over to Maynard7 for the winter and Uncle Hollis4 is down to Addison5 staying with Louise6. I am coming down one of the days to see you.

Helen8 is here   she come three weeks to-morrow. I don't know why she won't stay with her children.

This is where I left off last night so I will add a few more lines   it sure cold here this morning.

Well dear I often think of you and wish I could drop in every now and then. after Helen is here a week I don't know rather I am on foot or horse back  she sure get me. Well I guess I has better say salong for now and write you after Xmas. with lots of love, and Merry Christmas

6. Probably Louise OAKDEN Llewellyn (1909 - 1980), Doda's sister.

7. Probably Maynard A Oakden (1907 - 1994), Doda's brother.

8. Probably Doda's sister, Helen OAKDEN Schoonover, (ca 1910 - 1992).
