CAMPBELL COUSINS CORRESPONDENCE

Nelson, Tioga Co., Pa.,
  June 12, 1923.

My dear Cousin Will:-

You will be looking for a letter from me on or before June 15th, so I will send one, because I do not want the Clearing House scheme to fail. You have given it much thought and your plans seem perfect to carry out the object you are trying to establish. Not only that, but to hear from all the Cousins of the Joseph [& Ann Clinch] Campbell Family, every three months, will give to every one of us a pleasure that we have not enjoyed since we were children, and used to go to the old homestead where we enjoyed the pleasure of seeing not only our Cousins, but our Grandfather and Grandmother and Aunts and Uncles.

Some of the Cousins did not have the pleasure of these visits; but none of us ever get tired of talking over the pleasure it was to visit at Grandpa’s, and at night to lie down in front of the old fireplace and hear the hopes and fears of he family talked over, and the plans for the future both financial and social discussed by the members of the whole family; - because they always seemed to work together, and the Cousins (the Grandchildren) all seemed to look to Grandfather and Grandmother as the guides of their faith and practice, - because they were always right; and our Fathers and Mothers placed their trust in their teachings, and we the Cousins, could not have more faith in outside influences, and that has been our guide in many a temptation. Their examples have been a blessing to all of us. But now we are taking their places, and our examples we trust will be looked upon in much the same way. We do not feel that we can leave behind us the good influences we have had in the past but hope and trust that we will never do anything to disgrace our friends.

All the Cousins and their families have my best wishes for the present and the future.

Cordially yours,

M. B. SEELY
