CAMPBELL COUSINS CORRESPONDENCE
414 Albert Street,
Portland, Oregon,
September 25, 1923.
Dear Cousin Will and all
Cousins:-
When
I received your letter with the splendid idea of a system of
letters between the Cousins, I was very much pleased and wish to
congratulate you. I am sure all of us will help you to make it a
real success.
"Blood is thicker than water" and I think
we all often wonder what has become of some of our "ain kin folk"
and as one generation follows another, we are soon lost in the
melting pot of human life.
Unlike our forefathers, our Klans are
mixed and the heather and the rose grow side by side,‑ the kilties
and the bagpipes have given way to short skirts and jazz and a "wee
sma drop" is now called moonshine.
Oregon is not so very far away but that a
Cousin may come this way and a very cordial invitation is extended
to all of you to make us a visit.
I enclose some snapshots taken on a recent
trip thru California; this was taken in the Bosch Gardens in
Pasadena; the little goblins in the background represent the story
of Rip Van Winkle.
I shall look forward with pleasure for the
letters.
With love to
all,
FRANK G.
