Mr. T. C. Campbell

Dear Sir,

Your invitation to the Campbell Reunion received. I greatly regret my inability to attend. It would have been a great source of great source of pleasure to me to have met and formed the acquaintance of Uncle Joseph's1 (your grandfather's) connection. I remember with most pleasure a visit he made us when I was quite young.

I am a daughter of Samuel Campbell, second son of John C. My father died Jan 5, '87.2 My mother and all four girls survive him. Of my Grandfather's family, only three are still living  John C., late of Perrysville, Pa., now of Dehaven,3 Pa. and Misses Sarah and Elizabeth C., 313 Federal St. Allegheny City, Pa.

Hoping that sometime in the future we may have the pleasure of meeting and wishing all of you all a pleasant and joyous reunion.

I remain,

Yours truely [sic],

Sarah Campbell

1. Tommy's grandfather, Joseph Campbell "the younger", was Sarah's great-uncle.She and Tommy were 2nd cousins. See diagram below.

2. In Sarah's letter, her father's death year clearly appears to be 1887. However his tombstone definitely is inscribed "1881"

3. Dehaven Station was on the Pittsburgh and Western Railroad. It is now in the Hampton Township portion of Allison Park, Allegheny Co., just north pf the PA Turnpike.
