Myra Arline BUCK Seiders (1884 - 1976)

Myra was born Sep. 30, 1884, in Sugar Hill, Schuyler Co., NY; d. Apr. 1976. She married William "Bill" Edward Seiders, b. Aug 15, 1883 in San Francisco, CA, d. bef. Sep. 1974.

She was the younger of 2 children of Emma Congdon, b. 1848, in Nelson, d. 1928 in Watkins, Schuyler Co., NY; and Jabez Buck, b. 1844 in Schuyler Co., NY, d. 1921.

William owned a hardware store in Wenonah, Gloucester Co., NJ.

[I remember Myra visiting my parents home, first when I was about 7, and again when I was about 10. She impressed me as "elegant". But most of all I remember her mink neck piece, which was an entire mink, fastened with a gold chain. I was fascinated by the shiny black eyes and wondered if they were real. I also wondered why anyone would want to wrap a dead animal, with head and tail intact, around their neck. My sister, who met Myra and her children, described Myra as "aristocratic, like all the Campbell women", Elizabeth as "beautiful"; and Bill, Jr, as "good looking". -wbt]
