TO THE MANY CAMPBELL COUSINS:

Yes you have been lifelong friends of mine and I have more or less reciprocated and appreciated your kindly favors but why should my unworthy correspondence be foisted into the Campbell Cousins' Book? I have no literary ability commensurate with that of the Campbell Cousins and I am rarely ever reminiscent over family affairs, but since I am invited to inflict you with an attempt may I be permitted briefly to observe that in my opinion, the whole Campbell Clan will cope with any average family here or hereafter, in America, or England, in meeting the problems incident to this life or the next, and I therefore felicitate you upon the signal success and prominence you have attained here and across the waters, and I wholeheartedly wish you, one and all, the benedictions and good things you so richly deserve.

Yours sincerely,

COUSIN C. H. LUGG
