Joseph D. CAMPBELL (1839 - 1909)

Joseph D. Campbell was born Dec. 29, 1839, in Nelson, Tioga Co., PA; d. Mar. 22, 1909. Married Dec. 2, 1862 to Dollie V. Bottom; b. Jan. 25, 1840, in PA; d. Apr. 5, 1920. Dollie's parents were Charles Bottum, b. CT, and Phoebe Pierce, b. NY.

Joe was the 9th of 12 children of Joseph Campbell, b. 1793 in N. Ireland or Scotland, d. 1864 in Nelson; and Ann Clinch, born 1804 in Gloucestershire, England, died 1872 in Nelson.

He was in the insurance business with his brother, John; then, with his brother-in-law, Jerome Bottom in the feed business and the Fall Brook RR.

He was Pres. of 1895 Campbell Reunion, Sec. of 1903 reunion.

Joseph and Dollie Bottom Campbell had three children:

1. Grace B. Campbell, b. Aug. 29, 1865 in Tioga Co., PA, m. Alfred D. Mowrey, George Wallace Buck, & John Beatty Carey;
2. Myra Campbell, b. Aug. 3, 1867 in Nelson, d. there Oct. 18, 1883; and
3. Phoebe Ann Campbell, b. Jun. 14, 1869 in Nelson, d. there Oct 14, 1870.
