I think my letter was Number One last year. Will try to make a start on this year's letter this morning before going to church.

We have had some beautiful March days, but are having a snow storm this morning - the last, we hope.

I am feeling quite well, but the courage to be cheerful sometimes almost fails me. My dear boy, Ross, has been taken away. He died December first at the age of thirty years. He has left a wife and two little girls¹. I am so glad he contributed a letter last year, and also sent in his picture.

I am living close neighbor to Cousin Jud Seeley [sic]. Four of the cousins live within calling distance - Jud, Ada, Minnie and myself. I enjoy getting the cousins letters. When we can not see each other often, what a cheery messenger is a letter!
