Hugh Campbell Ellison was born Apr. 39, 1888, in Potterbrook, PA; d. Feb. 14, 1960 in Deland, FL. Married first, on Apr. 15, 1908 in Garrett Co., MD to Virginia Estella Protzman, b. May 28, 1889 in Morgantown, WV; d. Sep. 7, 1944 in Medina, NY. Her parents were Spurgeon Holmes Protzman, born 1858 in WV, and Minnie Vanona Jackson born 1866 in WV. Widower Hugh m. 2nd, after 1945, to Bessie Newsome, b. May 14, 1890.

Hugh was the younger of 2 children of William Arthur Ellison, b. Oct. 17, 1853 in Mill Creek, Tioga Co., PA, d. Oct 7, 1925 in Corning, Steuben Co., NY; and and Jessie Ann Campbell, b. Oct. 15, 1851 in Farmington Twp., Tioga Co., PA, d. Nov. 15, 1900 in Elkland, Tioga Co., PA.

Hugh Ellison was a RR station agent, fisherman, and as you will see from his letters had a dry sense of humor. He was Treasurer of the 1915 Campbell Reunion,

Hugh and Virginia Protzman had three children:

1. Gertrude Rosamund Ellison, b. Feb. 27, 1910 in Elkland, m. George Henry Curtis;
2. Helen Virginia Ellison, b. Jul. 4, 1915 in Elkland, m. Clayton Sumner Cornell; and
3. Thelma Jane Ellison, b. Sept. 30, 1920 in Candandaigua, NY, m. Rev. Paul Huyett and Frank Leslie Keyse.

Hugh and Bessie Newsome had no children.
